- To produce simple poems.
In unit 25 we looked at acrostic poems which form a simple format for poetry that young children find they can create fairly easily. In this unit, we will move away from the rigid structure of acrostic poems and give your child more freedom to create their poem. However, as poetry is still a difficult genre for your child to deal with we will create a simple theme for your child to stick to.
Your child will be creating colour poems, thinking about objects that begin with certain colours. The lines can rhyme but do not have to and can be as simple or as complicated as your child likes, depending on their ability level.
